Duties
- Prepare ingredients through precise slicing, dicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
- Follow recipes meticulously to maintain flavor profiles, presentation standards, and portion control.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing a variety of dishes according to established guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Support the culinary team during meal preparation for service periods, catering events, or special functions.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely delivery of orders.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures.
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques essential for ingredient prep.
- Experience with food industry equipment operation and basic cooking methods required.
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while adhering to safety standards in production.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
