SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the School Nutrition Director and Principal, manages the school nutrition program
operation by overseeing daily food preparation and service, supervising staff and completing required record keeping
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
2. Monitor employee attendance
3. Maintain all records and reports accurately and timely to meet State and Federal requirements
4. Attend job related training, meetings, and workshops; encourages staff to participate
5. Ensure that deposits and production records are completed daily for breakfast, lunch and snack
6. Maintain, submits and follow accurate meal accountability procedures for reimbursements
7. Ensure proper use and care of equipment, utensils and facilities
8. Oversee safety and sanitation levels for health department compliance; follows and monitors HACCP requirements
9. Observe and reports all work related accidents, employee concerns and personal hygiene/dress violations
10. Manage personnel using the progressive disciplinary procedures and evaluates performance
11. Create and supports an atmosphere for positive working relationships
12. Complete Nutrition Education activities and promotions to support student achievement
13. Maintain acceptable inventory levels of foods, chemicals, and paper products
14. Operate a financially viable operation using budgetary control measures
15. Follow strict accounting guidelines for money management. Verify cash (count and initial documents) and make
deposits of all income daily
16. Use effective oral and written communication skills in the training, delegating, and supervising of staff
17. Order food and supplies for kitchen in computer system
18. Receive deliveries, verify orders and invoices, sign invoices and supervise placement of groceries and supplies in
appropriate storage areas
19. Verify accuracy of free and reduced applications and submit for processing in a timely manner
20. Prepare payroll, personnel records, and work schedules for all employees under his/her supervision
