Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, grooming, and drying pets to ensure they are clean, comfortable, and well-presented
- Handle animals safely and gently, using proper restraint techniques to reduce stress and ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Support groomers with equipment setup, cleaning tools, and maintaining a tidy grooming area throughout the day
- Monitor animals during grooming procedures, observing for signs of distress or health issues
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets’ grooming needs and progress
- Assist with pet handling during drop-off and pick-up processes, ensuring smooth and positive experiences for clients
- Perform salon cleaning duties at the end of the day to help maintain a sanitary and organized workspace
Experience
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Experience working with dogs outside of personal pets is preferred
- Ability to understand dogs body language or an eagerness to learn
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and pet grooming procedures enhances effectiveness in this role
- Must be 18+ and have reliable transportation
- Availability to work Sunday
Advancement Available!
- If you have grooming experience already there is availability for advancement to a part-time groomer position once I have fully trained you in my procedures and techniques.
- Pay scale for the Groomer position is based on skill and may be hourly or commission based, depending on the situation. But it would be more than the pay scale shown in this listing.
