Duties
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our adult residential mental health program. The BHT plays a key role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for our residents. Responsibilities include monitoring client safety through routine checks, assisting with daily living activities, facilitating or supporting group programming, documenting behaviors and progress, and providing crisis intervention when necessary. BHTs are also responsible for assisting with patient admissions and discharges, including completing required documentation and ensuring a smooth transition for residents entering or leaving the program. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a calm and supportive presence, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience in mental health or human services is preferred. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification is required, but can be obtained on site upon hire. All shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required due to our 24/7 facility schedule. Experience
Prior experience working in a mental health, behavioral health, or residential treatment setting is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of experience supporting adults with mental health diagnoses, behavioral challenges, or co-occurring disorders. Experience assisting with daily living activities, de-escalation, crisis management, group programming, and documentation is highly valued. Candidates with internship or volunteer experience in human services will also be considered. Strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm and supportive during high-stress situations are essential for success in this role.
