This is a working and cooking position. We need a candidate that is immediately ready to jump into any station in the kitchen and make things happen everyday.
Experience as a working chef is mandatory for this position.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining consistency and quality with weekly specials.
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to ensure excellence in every dish served.
- Manage inventory control and procurement processes to optimize food costs and minimize waste through effective inventory management practices.
- Enforce strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures, sanitation standards, and health regulations across all kitchen areas.
- Oversee catering events, banquet functions, and special dining occasions with meticulous attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and mentor culinary staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive team environment through effective leadership and team management.
- Coordinate shift management, ensuring smooth transitions between teams while maintaining high standards of service during busy periods.
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure seamless food service delivery that exceeds guest expectations.
- Implement cost control measures without compromising quality by monitoring food production costs and managing budgets effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive records related to food safety compliance, inventory levels, staff schedules, and operational procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in fine dining environments with a strong background in restaurant management or executive culinary leadership.
- Extensive banquet experience with the ability to oversee large-scale catering events from planning through execution.
- Supervising experience managing diverse culinary teams in fast-paced settings; demonstrated leadership skills are essential.
- In-depth knowledge of dietary department standards and food handling procedures to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, cost control strategies, and food industry best practices.
- Strong background in menu planning, food production techniques, and kitchen management including shift supervision.
- Experience with food safety sanitizing procedures and maintaining compliance with health regulations is required.
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail; excellent communication skills are vital for team coordination.
