The Manager In Training (MIT) is responsible for learning all aspects of the company's daily retail and food service operations with emphasis on adhering to the company's core values. The MIT will work closely with current store leadership and staff to develop the skills necessary to lead daily store processes. The MIT is required to complete training (both on the job and classroom) and will be evaluated monthly by the current store Manager, Regional Director and/or the Chief Operating Officer. The MIT will be assigned to a store as Manager when all training is complete, the Regional Director and Chief Operating Officer determine readiness and a store management opportunity becomes available.
- Have strong working knowledge of the company's policies and procedures
- Provides store level leadership
- Demonstrates focus on employee safety, inventory controls and audits
- Learns and implements marketing strategies and campaigns including approved signage, suggestive selling and targeted products
- Works closely with the Food Services team to learn all aspects of food preparation, presentation and inventory processes including cost controls such as waste and portioning
- Achieve proficiency in Human Resources policies and procedures including but no limited to recruitment, coaching/counseling and terminations
- Possesses the ability and understanding necessary to address facility maintenance issues and repairs
- Ensures the facility is always customer ready and safe
- Reviews and understands key facility financial metrics such as shrink, labor, gross profit, customer count and competition to ensure store success
- Develops skills to appropriately manage and deter customer conflict
- Ensures positive customer experience and relations via prompt and appropriate responses

- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
- Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school): Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school): Preferred
- Experience: 5 years retail experience 3 years management experience or 5 years work/management combined experience
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
