Business & Financial Data Analyst
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Business & Financial Data Analyst to support executive decision-making through data analysis, financial reporting, and business intelligence. This position serves as a key partner to the Chief Financial Officer by transforming operational and financial data into meaningful insights that improve visibility, efficiency, and profitability across the organization.
The ideal candidate is an advanced Microsoft Excel user with exceptional analytical skills and the ability to organize large volumes of data into clear, actionable reporting. While a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles is important, this role is best suited for someone who enjoys solving business problems through data, automation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated Microsoft Excel workbooks, financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Analyze financial, operational, inventory, purchasing, sales, and service data to identify trends, opportunities, and business risks.
Design automated reporting processes that improve efficiency, eliminate repetitive manual tasks, and increase data accuracy.
Consolidate and validate data from multiple business systems to create reliable executive reporting.
Prepare recurring KPI dashboards and performance metrics for executive leadership.
Partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer on strategic initiatives, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and special projects.
Assist with monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and operational performance reviews.
Identify opportunities to improve business processes through automation, standardization, and better use of available data.
Research and resolve data discrepancies while ensuring integrity across reporting platforms.
Collaborate with leaders across Operations, Purchasing, Inventory, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to develop reporting solutions that support business objectives.
Document reporting procedures, templates, and analytical models to ensure consistency and scalability.
Stay current on Microsoft Excel capabilities, reporting technologies, and business intelligence best practices.
Perform additional analytical and reporting responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
Equivalent combinations of education and practical business experience will be considered.
