We are looking for an individual with a great attitude, enthusiasm for their profession and focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience. The Boat Place is a drug-free workplace. Hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm, During boat show season we may need you to work some overtime at boat shows (show season November – March)
Service Advisor / Manager
A Service Advisor / Manager is responsible for providing support to the service team and our customers. Responsibilities include working with the customer (either internal or external) to get the information required to perform the work on the boat, following through to make sure the work is completed correctly the first time and in a timely manner. Manage a successful team of techs and yard staff who's efficiency meets or exceeds our goals. Must have minimum 2 years previous boat dealership service experience with at least 2 years management experience. Must be quick with a computer and quick on your feet.
Responsibilities of Marine Service Manager Includes
- Ensure customers are satisfied DAILY.
- Effective communication with clients and service techs.
- Provides accurate estimates and costs.
- Enters repair orders accurately into the computer system. Including work order notes.
- Detail orientation and exceptional organizational skills.
- Computer skills required.
- Assist in day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate with the parts manager, the manufacturer and/or extended warranty companies to get approval in advance of repairs, if required, and take precautions necessary to guarantee our payment including but not limited to pictures of the work and returning parts replaced.
- Greet customers and determine needs, providing clear and precise instructions on the work order for the technician.
- Answer incoming calls in a professional manner, returning all customer calls prior to close of business each day.
- Promote the sale of additional labor services, parts and accessories in a professional manner for each customer.
- Inspect quality of work performed as required, prior to delivery to the customer.
- Communicate with the customer during repairs and coordinate customer pick-up.
- Finalize and invoice work orders.
- Schedule new boat sales, seatrials, repowers etc with salespersons.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Must be comfortable using computers including email, microsoft products and dealer management systems.
- Must have marine engine and mechanical knowledge.
- Must be capable of managing people and priorities.
- Must have a Florida DL.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds and climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Must pass a drug test/background.
- Prior experience of Marine Service, Service Coordinator, Marine Service Manager.
