Pay: $36,000 - $38,000 per year starting, based on experience
About the Role
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaves and Lincoln Counties is seeking a dedicated and motivated Program Director to oversee daily Club operations at an assigned site. The Program Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating programs and services that support Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
This position plays a key leadership role in creating a safe, structured, positive, and engaging environment for youth. The Program Director will supervise staff and volunteers, manage daily operations, support safety and compliance standards, maintain accurate documentation, and serve as a professional representative of the Club.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily site operations
- Plan, implement, and evaluate youth programs using approved curriculum
- Promote a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for members
- Supervise, train, mentor, and support program staff and volunteers
- Maintain daily schedules, monthly calendars, and activity plans
- Serve as the lead discipline officer on-site and support positive behavior management
- Track attendance, outcomes, behavior reports, and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with Club policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures
- Support grant compliance through accurate paperwork and program records
- Build positive relationships with parents, schools, community partners, and volunteers
- Maintain an active presence during program hours, including transitions, meals, and dismissal
- Report safety concerns, suspected abuse, harassment, or other serious concerns immediately
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development, education, early childhood, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, social work, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent experience will be considered in place of a degree
- Must meet New Mexico licensing requirements for site supervision or be eligible within 90 days
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and support a diverse team
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general data entry
- Ability to work in a high-energy youth environment
- Must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening
- Valid New Mexico driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record
