We are actively seeking a seasoned Client Development Director to join our team, driving our growth and propelling our company to new heights within the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. Position Summary
As the Client Development Director, you are responsible for building visibility, awareness, interest, strategic relationships, and sales with new prospects and existing clients to positively impact the company’s bottom line.
You will routinely track new markets and emerging trends, recommend new products and services, propose and develop new strategic partnerships, write proposals and plans, and guide long-term objectives to meet business needs and requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Development
- Generate leads, grow and nurture relationships, make cold calls, and prepare proposals.
- Develop and manage new and existing relationships.
- Hunt for new opportunities and promising prospects.
- Work with the Creative Services team to build exceptional responses to proposals.
Processes & Procedures
- Create, maintain, and document specific processes and templates relative to business development.
- Quality control of proposals and agreements sent to clients.
- Ensure that deliverables in client agreements align with the team’s expectations.
- Working hand in hand with the Account Managers and Marketing Team, the CDD will help prepare, review and present proposals for RFPs and RFIs.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for knowing the competition's weaknesses and understanding how to sell against them.
- Think creatively and seek unconventional ideas and solutions.
- Have a high strategic acumen and be able to interpret client needs effectively.
- Multi-task and function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Meet deadlines on multiple projects with little to no supervision.
- Ensure that account teams are appropriately managing approved budgets.
- Be a highly effective communicator, a good storyteller and have strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to create PowerPoint presentations when required or with assistance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Word and Excel.
- Proficient in database management tools such as Monday.com.
- Cater to client schedules and work needs in different time zones.
- Be an organized and motivated individual.
- Work well under pressure.
- Ability to inspire others.
- Enforce company policies with clients.
- Must have a current passport and be prepared for domestic and international travel.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
- 5+ years of related work experience in the meeting and event industry, focusing on sales/business development, relationship-building and budget management (or an equivalent combination of related training and knowledge).
- Proven success selling creative & production and/or meeting management services.

Compensation:
The pay for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, education, certifications, and training. The salary range (annually) for this position is $100,000 base plus unlimited commission potential.
