Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and intake evaluations to determine individual needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver a range of therapeutic interventions including psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to stabilize clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or emergencies.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and behavioral management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, medical documentation, and social work services while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; maintain detailed medical records and behavioral health data collection.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives to enhance treatment approaches and contribute to evidence-based practices within the organization.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), pediatrics, geriatrics, or special education needs through specialized interventions such as behavior management and social skills training.
- Apply telehealth experience to deliver remote care effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or equivalent credential as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics in outpatient or inpatient settings; hospital experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, trauma-informed care including PTSD treatment.
- Excellent crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage complex situations involving behavioral crises or psychiatric emergencies.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is desirable.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance protocols and medical records management; proficiency in data collection for clinical research is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams; experience delivering telehealth services is advantageous.
