Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong electromechanical knowledge and experience in automotive upfitting and equipment repair, particularly in low voltage (12 and 24 volt) systems. This role involves working with low voltage electrical systems such as lighting, radio, camera, hydraulics, and oem vehicle systems. The technician will work with other team members to ensure high-quality production standards and timely project completion.
Responsibilities
- Predetermine circuit routing, component layout, and power sources in custom low voltage systems
- Utilize hand tools and equipment such as drills, screw guns, heat guns, and soldering equipment
- Layout and install low voltage electrical circuits emphasizing safety, efficiency, and high quality
- Utilizing diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, test lights, and battery power sources
- Ability to remove and install vehicle panels and trim pieces, interior and exterior, in a delicate manner
- Diagnose and repair issues related to wiring and associated electrical components
- Collaborate with service technicians to address field service requirements effectively
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Ability to learn new things and be open minded to new ideas and criticism
Experience
- Experience with police and emergency vehicle outfitting is highly preferred
- Strong electrical knowledge with hands-on experience in low voltage, including 24v systems
- Proficient in using hand tools, electrical tools, soldering equipment, and multimeters
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Some automotive/heavy truck mechanical repair knowledge preferred
