Job Description: Undercover Loss Prevention Officer
This role entails covert surveillance and asset protection within a retail environment. Undercover Loss Prevention Officers operate in plain clothes to discreetly identify, investigate, and apprehend individuals involved in theft. To excel in this role, you must be highly observant, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining a low profile while exercising sound judgment. Our ideal candidate has the professionalism and confidence to handle apprehensions lawfully and effectively.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Position Overview:
- Conduct covert, floor-level surveillance as a plainclothes “shopper”
- Identify, monitor, and investigate suspicious activity and theft behaviors
- Apprehend subjects in accordance with Rhode Island law and company policy
- Protect company assets including merchandise, cash, and equipment
- Maintain constant awareness while blending into the retail environment
- Coordinate with local law enforcement when necessary
- Complete detailed and accurate incident and apprehension reports
- Testify in court as required
Qualifications:
- Loss Prevention experience (required)
- Strong observation and situational awareness skills
- Ability to remain discreet and maintain a covert presence
- Knowledge of Rhode Island detention laws and legal guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure
