The Assistant Branch Supervisor supports the Branch Supervisor in overseeing daily branch operations, ensuring efficient processes, maintaining compliance with policies and regulatory requirements, and delivering exceptional member service. This role also addresses member lending needs and provides product and services information.
Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, this position also collaborates with departmental managers and may receive guidance from the Branch Operations Manager, Lending Supervisor and Vice President of Lending.
In the absence of the Branch Supervisor, the Assistant Branch Supervisor assumes responsibility for branch operations, including supervising staff and ensuring the branch opens and operates on schedule each day.
Key Responsibilities:

Performs branch lending duties as needed, including underwriting loans

Must be familiar with all credit union lending policies and procedures and help lead the branch team with compliance
- Ensures compliance and security in branch operational procedures and policies

Assists with branch audits and cash counts

Oversees Member Service Representatives and/or Universal Member Representatives at the branch
- Interacts with members and addresses all questions and concerns

Implements management-approved decisions and initiatives within the branch

Monitors and coaches employees as needed when Branch Supervisor is absent

Performs teller transactions as needed and assists members with new accounts, VISAs, CDs, IRAs, etc.

Must be willing to travel to other branch locations as needed to provide coverage for Branch Supervisors and Assistant Branch Supervisors
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required

1-3 years’ experience in a banking or financial setting required

Supervisory experience preferred

Must have excellent member service skills

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing

Knowledge of financial institution operations

Must have knowledge of Credit Union lending policies and procedures

Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
