American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a cardiac specialty hospital in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience and active Epic proficiency.

Patient ratio of 1:3–4

3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Both day (7:30–19:00) and night (19:00–7:30) shift options available

Scheduled on weekdays with some weekend shifts required

Rotating holiday coverage required

Floating to units of similar or lower acuity within the health system is required

Epic EMR experience required
-
Telemetry monitoring performed on the unit
-
Active OH RN license or valid compact RN license required at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
NIHSS certification required
-
Proficiency with Epic EMR required

Strong skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation required
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
-
Skills in non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and peripheral line care/management
-
Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required

2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity; a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; no coworker references accepted

Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team in a lower acuity cardiac unit

Cardiac monitoring experience is preferred

Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Former employees of this health system are eligible after a minimum 6-month separation from the facility; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after contract signing — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet urgently upon receipt
