Plastic + Hand Surgical Associates is a leading reconstructive, hand and cosmetic surgery physician practice. Our day surgery center is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). We provide patients with individualized care in a comfortable, private setting
We are looking for an experienced full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our practice.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Assist positioning, prepping and draping of patient for surgical procedures.
· Accurately complete operating room counts (sponges and needles); reports all discrepancies to circulating nurse and surgeon and/or corrects immediately.
· Carry out medical/surgical asepsis during treatments/procedures.
· Prepare OR and procedure rooms in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, supplies and equipment for each procedure.
· Follow aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies and setting up procedures.
· Maintain an orderly and sterile instrument table for the purpose of efficiency; follow standard set-up.
· Anticipate needs of surgeon during surgery and office procedures.
· Clean and prepare rooms between procedures and after last case; restocks supplies, when necessary,
and organize effectively.
· Check all equipment/instruments needed, prior to each procedure, to ensure proper functioning.
· Maintain safe environment for patient, co-worker and self, per facility policies and procedures.
· Adhere to OSHA standards, wearing protective eye covering and gloves when working with blood and bodily fluids.
· Regularly collaborate with members of the nursing team in order to maintain equipment and supplies.
· Follows written procedures for steam sterilization and understand responsibilities and necessity for chemical and biological monitoring.
Requirements:
· High School graduate or equivalent
· Certified Surgical Technologist
· Current BLS Certification
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in the OR/office environment
· Basic computer skills

Pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour
