Bartender Position
Claremont Distillery is one of New Jersey’s largest craft distilleries, founded in 2014. We produce award-winning vodka, bourbon, American whiskey, and other premium spirits — all grain-to-bottle, locally sourced, with a strong emphasis on quality, hospitality, and community. The Bartender is responsible for creating specialty cocktails that showcase Claremont Distillery’s award-winning products.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve craft cocktails, spirit tastings, and flights featuring Claremont’s in-house distillations
- Deliver a polished and engaging guest experience with exceptional customer service
- Educate guests on Claremont spirits, production methods, local sourcing, and flavor profiles
- Bring creativity and enthusiasm to cocktail preparation and presentation
- Ensure cocktails are visually appealing, consistent, and reflective of the Claremont brand experience
- Accurately process tastings, bottle sales, merchandise, and transactions through the POS system
- Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready tasting room and bar area before, during, and after each shift, including cleaning, sanitizing, restocking and setup/breakdown duties, and remain compliant with all health department requirements
- Monitor guest behavior to ensure safety and responsible alcohol service in accordance with liquor laws and company policies
- Assist with private events, special tastings, live music nights, and festival appearances
- Help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and word-of-mouth support
- Work efficiently across all tasting room, patio, and event spaces
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years in bartending or hospitality (distillery experience a plus)
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate about spirits
- Effective communicator, comfortable leading tastings, answering questions, and storytelling
- Detail oriented with strong multitasking skills and calm under pressure
- Dependable and able to work evenings and weekends
- 21+ years of age with New Jersey state alcohol service certification (TIPS, etc.).
Pay: $10.00 per hour
