Job Overview
The Rumford Water District is seeking applicants for a full time Water Operator.
The Water Operator position works under the District Foreman to perform the following duties, including, but not limited to:
Duties
- Reads & inspects meters
- Performs disconnection and reconnection of water services as necessary
- Assists in the repairs and installation of water mains, hydrants, and service lines
- Operates equipment/heavy machinery
- Performs routine maintenance on all field equipment
- Assists with the overall cleanliness of the Water District office, garage & stations
- This position requires being on call for emergencies one week a month
Experience/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have and maintain a valid Maine drivers' license
- Must have the ability to acquire a State of Maine Class II Water Operator's license within 3 years of hire
- Must have the ability to work cooperatively with other crew members, as well as the public
- Must be physically able to move heavy materials, operate machinery, and perform other physical tasks
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.89 - $27.89 per hour
