Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise will ensure precision and efficiency in our manufacturing processes, contributing directly to our reputation for quality and reliability.
Duties
- Set up CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling and fixtures are in place for each job
- Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to produce precise parts according to blueprints and technical specifications
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to guide machining operations
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Operate manual machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, and power tools for secondary operations or adjustments when necessary
- Maintain machine setup records, production logs, and inspection reports to ensure traceability and accountability
- Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment to optimize performance and prevent downtime
Skills
- Strong understanding of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is a plus
- Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar for interpreting design files
- Skilled in blueprint reading with the ability to interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in metal machining processes like milling, turning on CNC lathe machines, grinding, and manual machining techniques
- Familiarity with machining tools, tooling setup, measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers), and precision measurement techniques in manufacturing environments
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for machining operations
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feed rates, speeds, and tolerances
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production workflows
OPEN SHIFTS:
1st Shift: 5:30 am - 4 pm (Monday - Thursday)
2nd Shift: 4:30 pm -3 am (Monday - Thursday)
Weekend 1st Shift Hours: 5:00am - 5:00pm (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Weekend 2nd Shift: 5:00pm- 5:00am (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Shift premiums for 2nd shift and weekend shifts.
