Driver
Reports To: Operations Manager
Supervises: N/A
Time Commitment: Full Time, Non-Exempt, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday
Summary: A Step to Freedom (ASF) is seeking a dependable, courteous, and a safety-conscious Driver to join our team! This is an essential role supporting our mission of empowering individuals transitioning out of homelessness, incarceration, or substance use.
As our Driver, you’ll be responsible for safely transporting program participants, delivering meals, and providing support with other transportation-related needs across our various housing and service sites.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Transport participants to and from appointments, employment, or program activities
- Pick up and deliver meals, supplies, or donations as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of agency vehicles
- Ensure timely and safe driving practices in alignment with organizational policies
- Assist with loading/unloading when required
- Support other departments with transportation needs as directed by supervisors
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in a driving or transportation role preferred
- Punctual, professional, and dependable
- Ability to navigate routes efficiently and safely
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations
