Duties
- Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and desserts, following established recipes and standards
- Support cake decorating efforts to create visually appealing confections for special occasions and daily sales
- Handle food production tasks such as mixing, measuring, portioning, and assembling ingredients with precision
- Package baked items carefully to maintain freshness and presentation for retail or catering purposes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Contribute to food handling procedures ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Support catering events by preparing baked goods and assisting with setup and presentation as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in pastry making, baking, or food preparation within a bakery or restaurant setting
- Strong cake decorating skills with an eye for detail and presentation
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and shaping of ingredients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high quality standards
- Customer service orientation to assist with retail sales or catering inquiries when required
- Familiarity with food industry practices related to packaging, food production, and kitchen operations
