Description of job:
Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join a dynamic and fast-paced procedural imaging team in Davenport, IA. The IR Tech will assist interventional radiologists with a wide range of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures while ensuring optimal imaging quality, patient safety, and sterile technique. This role is critical in supporting both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, delivering exceptional patient care, and maintaining efficient workflow in a high-acuity procedural environment.
Qualifications:
- Active ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology
- Connecticut Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility for licensure)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, or procedural imaging experience
- Strong understanding of sterile technique, radiation safety, fluoroscopy, and interventional imaging equipment
- Ability to work effectively during high-pressure, emergent situations
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities
- BLS required; ACLS preferred, depending on facility protocols
Responsibilities:
- Assist interventional radiologists during procedures such as angiography, stent placement, embolization, thrombectomy, biopsies, drain placements, and other image-guided interventions
- Prepare procedure rooms, sterile trays, and specialized equipment to ensure readiness for each case
- Operate fluoroscopy units, ultrasound equipment, and other imaging modalities utilized during interventional procedures
- Monitor patient status, including vital signs, comfort, and safety throughout procedures
- Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to all radiation safety standards
- Document procedural notes, imaging details, supply usage, and patient data accurately in the EMR
- Assist with post-procedure care such as dressing application, equipment breakdown, and room turnover
- Respond to emergent situations and support the clinical team during acute patient events
- Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and technologists to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient outcomes
