REM CENTER Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of society through science, education and quality social services. We operate and support the Bronx HYPE Family Enrichment Center and the Haven Hope School-Based Early Support Program in the South Bronx.
Mission
We seek to understand community needs and contribute to the overall wellness, growth and development of society.
Vision
We are committed to creating access to quality social services, reducing economic inequality, and promoting sustainable practices in urban communities.
Our South Bronx Team
We’re expanding our work in the South Bronx! We currently work with community members through the Bronx H.Y.P.E Family Enrichment Center. Family Enrichment Centers (FECs) are warm and welcoming community gathering places where any family or individual can come for support, information, and to participate in and/or lead activities (called “offerings”). FECs are based on the premise that community members design and drive the FEC’s activities or offerings. We are excited to further our mission through the implementation of the School-Based Early Support model in Bronx public schools.
The Division of Prevention Services (DPS) in the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) is renaming and redesigning the programs formerly known as ACS Beacon Prevention. Through the redesign, ACS intends to offer families a menu of flexible service options that strive to connect families to community resources through case management, address families’ concrete needs, support parents/caregivers, and avoid unnecessary investigations. We’ll implement this model in public schools located in School Districts 7, 11 and 12.
Case Planner Position
The Case Planner is primarily responsible for providing services to 12 families in school districts 7, 11 and 12 in the Bronx, including having a significant daily/weekly presence in up to 2 schools. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about equity and access to high quality educational and social services. This position requires adaptability, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care. The Case Planner will report directly to a Program Supervisor.
