Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bihler Four Slide Setup Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining Bihler Four Slide machines—specialized equipment used for high-precision metal stamping and component fabrication. Your expertise will ensure efficient production runs, optimal machine performance, and adherence to quality standards. - Prepare and set up Bihler Four Slide machines for production runs, ensuring all tooling and fixtures are correctly installed and aligned.
- Conduct precise adjustments to machine settings based on technical specifications and blueprints to achieve desired part tolerances.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on machinery, troubleshooting issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and quality of finished parts.
- Operate auxiliary equipment including lathes, milling machines and grinders as needed to build fixtures, guides, etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate cranes and hand tools safely during setup and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize tooling configurations and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality. Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing environments involving high volume metal stamping and four slide machines.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other quality inspection tools.
- Experience with fabrication tools including hand tools, welding equipment, tooling setups, forklifts (certification preferred), and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to sheet metal handling, machining operations, and machine maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly; strong attention to detail for quality assurance during setup and production.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members across departments; ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
