Join a rapidly growing dialysis company in the San Fernando Valley. Laurel Canyon Dialysis, LLC has an opening for a Full-time Certified Hemodialysis Technician (newly California-licensed techs accepted).

Your Role
As a CHT, you will be integral to our commitment to providing high-quality dialysis care for patients. This role involves close collaboration with nurses, physicians, patients, and families to promote effective communication and efficient workflows, thereby enhancing the quality of life for those we serve. The position demands exceptional multitasking skills and the ability to excel within a dynamic, fast-paced clinical setting, ensuring operational excellence throughout all stages of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- A commitment to clinical discipline and quality care.
- Perform the CHT job responsibilities per facility protocol and State and federal regulations.
- Perform hemodialysis treatments on patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Set up and operate hemodialysis machines.
- Initiate EMR and ensure all records are loaded correctly.
- Welcome the Patient to the clinic and encourage hand hygiene (infection control).
- Walk the Patient to the scale to obtain their pre-treatment weight (the same goes for the end of treatment).
- Assess the Patient before Put-on and Take-off.
- Perform Aseptic techniques before Cannulation of the access site.
- Perform Cannulation (Fistula or Graft) access per protocol.
- Initiate dialysis treatments.
- Monitor patient vital signs.
- Accurate documentation is required, including vital signs, treatment details, and any observed changes in condition (Report any change in patient condition to the Charge Nurse and Doctor).
- Strict adherence to infection control & cross-contamination procedures.
- Strict adherence to disinfection procedures (Treatment areas, HD chairs, machine equipment).
- Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this job (the safety of the employee and our patients is paramount).
- Educate patients monthly on dialysis care topics.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings/in-services to ensure continuing education.
- Obtain and prepare blood samples for lab analysis.
- Complete and document water testing at the beginning of each shift.
- Complete document (assigned Job responsibilities), facility logs throughout the day.
- Report on machine problems to the Biomedical Technician and the Facility Manager.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of the facility.
- An alternative Work Schedule is available if needed (We allow employees to work between 8 and 12 hours daily).
Qualifications
- California Certified Hemo-Dialysis Technician license is required (willing to train new licensed candidates).
- Dialysis experience plus
- High standard of customer service with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
