Job Summary
DJG Insulation LLC is a premier provider of high-quality insulation, fireproofing, and weatherization services across Central New Jersey. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to manage and drive our bidding process for both residential and commercial sectors.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical blueprint evaluation and direct customer consultation.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform detailed digital and manual quantity take-offs from architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and project specifications.
· Scope out specialized commercial applications, including firestopping, commercial fireproofing, soundproofing, thermal insulation, and pipe/duct insulation.
· Prepare formal RFP (Request for Proposal) responses, itemized bid breakdowns, and submittal packages for general contractors and commercial developers.
· Solicit and analyze pricing material vendors and suppliers to ensure accurate margin calculations on high-volume commercial jobs.
· Diagnose complex residential issues, accurately scoping requirements for full insulation removal, air sealing, mold/moisture management, and crawlspace encapsulations.
Skills & Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, with specific expertise in insulation, weatherization, or drywall/framing trades heavily preferred.
· High proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, architectural layouts, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings. Experience with digital take-off software (e.g., PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam) is a major plus.
· Advanced mathematical skills for calculating square footage, volumes, material ratios, and labor/margin cost models.
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret insulation requirements and material needs.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to prepare detailed project estimates
