We are currently seeking a San Diego based Sample Technician to join our team! This position is part of a mobile team that is tasked with collecting samples from our clients all over the state of California and driving them back to our lab for testing. We provide a company car, phone, and laptop needed to be successful in this position and we hope you bring a love for being on the road and the ability to be detail oriented and exhibit great customer service skills. Strong communication skills are a must for this role; while collecting samples you will be in continuous correspondence with clients and our lab team ready to tackle any changes or updates that come along the way. WORK SCHEDULE:
- Employee will be assigned scheduled routes based on requested pickups across the state, Monday through Friday.
- Because of the nature of this role, overtime and double time will be allotted as part of route shifts when traveling north of Los Angeles. You will likely work between 40-50 hours per week.
- Weekend availability may be required dependent upon client needs/requests in which case you will have two rolling days off dependent on that week's schedule. (Very Rare)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform onsite field sampling pickups in accordance with all CA state regulations and laboratory operating procedures.
- Maintaining Chain of Custody and Field Log Forms.
- Obtaining signatures from clients at completion of collection.
- Driving to clients' facilities and collect representative amounts of product samples to be tested.
- Driving samples back to ICAL office for testing.
- Ensuring there is no contamination of samples.
- Maintaining in-car inventory and testing supplies.
- Ensure regular vehicle maintenance and expenditure documentation; proactive with routine safety checks.
- Personal drive and commitment to meet and exceed the customer's expectations when choosing InfiniteCAL.
- Represent laboratory as "face of the company" and regularly answer any client questions.
- Travel time out of San Diego area more than 80% of the week, availability to do long-distance drives to Northern California and on rare occasion stay in Northern California overnight will be required (with employer provided accommodation and meals).
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Willing and/or eager for overtime scheduling.
- Clear understanding and adherence to CA motor vehicle laws.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Love of driving for long, uninterrupted periods of time.
- Exceptional attention to detail skills.
- A positive attitude to act as our laboratory representative.
- Personal integrity, disciplined work ethic, organization skills.
- Take directions well and follow protocols/regulations with extreme care and attention.
- Must be at least 21 years old to comply with CA Dept. of Cannabis Control Regulations.
- Candidate must be comfortable working with cannabis.
- Willingness to regularly work overtime and double time shift schedules.
- Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED; Associates/Technical degree preferred.
- Must possess at least 1 year's experience working in a long distance driving position or courier role.
- Ability to load and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
- Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record going back 7 years.
