We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. A TWIC card is a plus, demonstrating your commitment to security standards and compliance. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across extensive routes, adhering strictly to DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Handle various types of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and hazardous materials when applicable.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating tractor-trailers on long-haul routes with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Proficiency in manual transmission truck operation is required.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and hazardous materials handling is essential.
- Ability to load & unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or similar equipment is preferred.
- Strong route planning skills utilizing GPS navigation tools for efficient deliveries.
