Install and maintain fiber optic cables as well as provide technical assistance in the design and testing of fiber optics.
- Prep, dress, and store fiber optic cabling to specifications and assemble equipment according to design specifications

Prep of armored non-armored cables, ribbon and loose tube fiber and mid-sheath applications

Perform live fiber cut-overs during maintenance hours

Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently

Proficient in using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicer, power meter and OTDR, VFL and Traffic Identifier

Ability to read, understand and update splice documentation and maps as required

Working knowledge of the proper use and maintenance of fusion machines, OTDRs, power meters and tools of the trade

Knowledge of underground and aerial line engineering/construction

Knowledge of telecommunications
