Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our ongoing projects and operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and more, in a fast-paced construction environment.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on heavy construction equipment using schematics, electrical systems diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC components to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Service and repair construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, tractors, forklifts, and farm machinery while adhering to safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including electrical diagnostics and electrical experience to identify issues quickly and accurately.
- Perform tire service, brake repairs, alignment adjustments, and heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident reports, and equipment maintenance logs for accountability and future reference.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades while following schematics and technical manuals.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment servicing in a dealership or construction environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engine repair, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with OEM parts replacement and fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting electrical diagnostics and equipment repairs.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus to better understand machine functions during maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and service tech tools required for precise repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform equipment troubleshooting efficiently under pressure.
- Valid certifications or experience in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics or automotive repair are highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and project managers regarding repair status or issues encountered during maintenance tasks.

Pay will be based on experience and qualifications. Mechanics provided company truck must have their own tools.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
