Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of applied behavior analysis to children with autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and school settings. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care while fostering a supportive and engaging environment for clients.
Duties
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
- Implement the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
- Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols
- Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by behavior analysis
- Utilize safe and appropriate handing procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Assist clinical team with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments
- Assist clinical team in preparing client materials as instructed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
- Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, and the clinical team
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training
- Complete session notes within 24 hours of each session
- Engage in behavior compliant with the BACB Ethics Code
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and principles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records, and documentation practices is essential.
- Strong understanding of patient care standards and behavioral health practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating patience and empathy in all interactions.
