Job purpose
The Engineering Technician supports design and sales efforts through building, testing, and evaluating new designs and demonstrating them to customers.
Duties and responsibilities

Build prototypes and sales samples.

Evaluate same for performance, safety, and suitability for intended use.

Perform standard tests in accordance with Mossberg and Industry protocols.

Document results of tests and evaluations.

Provide actionable feedback to design engineers and product managers.

Maintain workshop and testing facilities and equipment.

Provide logistical support for customer demonstrations and demonstrate product capabilities to prospective customers.

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Knowledge of safe and proper use of small arms.
-
Personal familiarity with the use and maintenance of small arms in field conditions.
-
Training and experience as a Gunsmith.

Ability to clearly document findings and results of evaluations.

Understanding of basic probability and statistics.
-
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
-
Ability to work independently and a desire to learn and improve.
-
Ability to organize and present data.
Working conditions
Office and Range environment within a manufacturing facility.
Physical requirements
-
Physically able to perform firing tests and to move products, test equipment, and ammunition.
-
Willing to work under adverse conditions of temperature, weather, exposure to noise, sun, smoke, and dust.

Must be able to move, lift, transport items at minimum of 20 lbs.

Must be able to consistently operate a computer/office productivity machinery i.e., calculator, copy machine, printer for a minimum of 6 hours per day.

Must be able to remain stationary for a minimum of 2 hours per day.

Must be able to detect and correct errors on paper/screens.
-
Must be able to communicate and exchange information with other members of the organization verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.

Must be able to move throughout the facility and office area to access file cabinets, office equipment, plant machinery, and other office areas as needed.

Demonstrated ability to operate sophisticated test equipment, communicate technical information, and maintain records.

An ability to work independently and a desire to learn and improve.
