Duties
- Assist senior groomers with bathing, brushing, and basic grooming procedures for dogs and cats
- Complete a dog grooming academy online while practicing the techniques
- Learn proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff during grooming sessions
- Handle animals gently and confidently
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets’ grooming needs and progress
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals is preferred, including veterinary technician or assistant roles, kennel experience, or pet sitting
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques, and pet grooming practices is highly desirable
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of pet care, animal behavior, and safety protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members
- A genuine passion for animals combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in grooming and animal care
