Your Role
Gensler’s Phoenix Office is seeking a Technical Designer to join our team of design thinkers and doers, supporting technically complex and ground-up projects working across Higher Education, Sports, Government, Institutional, Municipal and Multifamily projects. You will collaborate with our Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase, with a focus on project delivery, technical execution, BIM leadership and building envelope detailing. Your work ethic, combined with your commitment to collaboration and mentoring, makes Gensler the perfect place to nurture your career.
What You Will Do
- Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
- Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
- Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts
- Contribute to project execution, BIM modeling, technical coordination and provide QA/QC support
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent
- 20+ years of professional experience in Higher Education, Government, Institutional, Municipal and Multifamily projects
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
- Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software
