A growing food distribution organization is seeking a Transportation & Warehouse Safety Manager to support safety compliance, training, accident reduction, and operational safety programs across multiple warehouse and transportation locations.
This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on safety professional with experience in OSHA, DOT/FMCSR, transportation safety, warehouse safety, accident reporting, safety training, and multi-site operations. The role can sit in the Bolingbrook / Naperville, IL area and includes approximately 50% travel to company locations.
- Support OSHA, DOT, FMCSR, warehouse, fleet, and transportation safety compliance
- Review accident reports, identify trends, and help create corrective action plans
- Partner with warehouse and transportation managers to reduce incidents and improve safety performance
- Facilitate safety trainings for drivers, forklift operators, warehouse teams, and site employees
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and site-level compliance reviews
- Track safety metrics, KPIs, training completion, and improvement initiatives
- Support safety improvement programs across multiple locations
- Communicate safety expectations clearly with managers and frontline teams
- 3+ years of transportation safety, warehouse safety, fleet safety, logistics safety, or EHS experience
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and DOT/FMCSR compliance
- Experience with accident reporting, incident investigation, corrective actions, and safety training
- Comfortable traveling approximately 50% to company locations
- Comfortable working onsite when not traveling
- Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred
- Prior people management is a plus, but this role does not currently have direct reports
