Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers including refrigerated trailers, across port locations.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to verify safety and operational readiness.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required.
- Proven experience in truck driving within port environments or logistics cargo handling.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules.
- Strong route driving skills utilizing GPS navigation tools for efficient deliveries.
