About the Role:
This isn't a traditional videographer gig.
We need someone who thinks like a content creator, not a filmmaker, someone who walks onto a job site or into an office, reads the room instantly, and already knows what hook or format is going to stop a scroll. Someone who can coach a nervous business owner through two takes and edit the whole thing natively on their phone, no laptop required.
You'll join our team on client shoots, capture phone-based content, brainstorm short-form concepts on the spot, and steer clients toward what actually performs. You bring the trend instinct. We bring the clients and the system around you.
What You'll Do:
- Show up to local client shoots and capture vertical short-form video on your phone
- Direct subjects on camera, suggest hooks, coach delivery, guide movement, get footage that actually performs
- Edit in CapCut or a similar mobile app
- Stay up-to-the-minute on trends, hook formats, sounds, filming styles, and platform behavior, and bring that to every shoot
- Capture behind-the-scenes clips, quick interviews, POV content, and trend-driven formats fit to each client's business
- Communicate your shoot ideas and concepts clearly to the team
- Deliver on tight timelines, sometimes a draft within 48 hours of a shoot
What We're Looking For:
Non-negotiable:
- Real experience creating short-form content for businesses, not personal accounts. We'll ask to see it.
- Deep, current knowledge of what's working on TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and Facebook right now, formats, hooks, trending audio, filming style
- Comfortable in CapCut or similar mobile editing apps
- Can direct someone who's never been on camera before. Patient, encouraging, gets a usable take out of a nervous first-timer.
- Strong people skills. Our clients are busy owners. You earn trust fast and make shoots feel easy.
- Available on 48-hour notice for shoots. Real requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- A smartphone that shoots quality vertical video
Strong to have:
- Experience with construction, home services, or B2B clients
- Understanding of how consistency and format variety affect algorithm performance
- Comfortable juggling content across multiple clients at once
Who This Is a Good Fit For:
A college student, recent grad, freelancer, or creator who already loves making short-form content and wants to put those skills to work helping real businesses grow.
Not a fit if you only want cinematic work or think phone content is beneath you. A great fit if you know the most effective video is often simple, authentic, and shot in one take on an iPhone, and that gets you excited instead of bored.
Schedule and Pay:
1099 contractor role, 6 to 12 hours a week to start, growing from there. $25/hour.
We'll start with a paid trial of two to three shoots before talking about an ongoing arrangement, so we both get a real read on fit before committing further.
