Overview
Encompass Senior Living & Memory Care is a boutique 10-bed memory care assisted living home in north Scottsdale. We provide attentive, person-centered care in a warm residential setting — not an institution. We're looking for compassionate, dependable Certified Caregivers who take pride in supporting seniors with dignity, patience, and respect.
As a Caregiver, you'll provide direct care and supervision to residents in accordance with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) regulations, assisting with activities of daily living, medication assistance as permitted, meals, and housekeeping — all while protecting each resident's rights, privacy, and independence. Responsibilities
Resident Care & Supervision
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) — bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene — per each resident's service plan
- Provide incontinence care and assistance with bathroom use
- Deliver continuous supervision to ensure resident safety and well-being
- Respond promptly to resident requests and report any changes in physical condition, behavior, or mental status to the Administrator/Manager
Medication Assistance
- Provide medication assistance in accordance with Arizona law, facility policy, and physician orders
- Ensure medications are given at the correct time and dosage as permitted
- Accurately document medication assistance and report any errors or adverse reactions immediately
Meals & Nutrition
- Prepare, serve, and assist with meals and snacks per shift
- Follow resident service plans, dietary restrictions, and physician-ordered diets
- Maintain safe food handling and clean kitchen/dining areas
Housekeeping & Laundry
- Keep resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas clean and sanitary per ADHS standards
- Wash, dry, fold, and store laundry; wash dishes and maintain kitchen surfaces
Safety, Rights & Compliance
- Follow all ADHS rules, facility policies, and procedures
- Uphold resident dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and freedom from abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Use universal precautions and infection control practices
- Assist with emergency situations per training and facility protocol
Experience & Qualifications
Must-haves:
- Certified Caregiver (Arizona caregiver certification required)
- Fluent in English — able to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional
- Ability to assist residents with ADLs, transfers, and mobility
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift
- Must pass a background check and meet Arizona licensing and clearance requirements
Preferred / nice-to-have:
- Prior experience as a caregiver, assisted living aide, or direct care worker
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in memory care or with residents living with dementia
Schedule & Live-In Option
We offer flexible scheduling across full-time and part-time roles, with both day and night shifts available. Live-in positions are also available — live-in rates vary by arrangement and will be discussed during the interview.
