Commercial Journeyman Electrician Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in commercial electrical systems, with demonstrated expertise in installation, maintenance, and repair across a variety of commercial construction and facility settings. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on active job sites.
Commercial Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Work on low voltage systems and ensure proper functionality of all electrical components.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to complete projects efficiently.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for various tasks.
- Perform renovations that require electrical work, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as an ohmmeter and logic controllers.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or areas for improvement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards.
Commercial Journeyman Electrician Skills
- Proficiency in low voltage electrical systems and installations.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Familiarity with frame carpentry as it relates to electrical installations is a plus.
- Ability to operate various power tools safely and efficiently.
- Experience in renovation projects requiring electrical expertise.
- General maintenance person skills are advantageous for addressing diverse tasks on-site.
- Previous experience as a commercial electrician is preferred but not mandatory.
Commercial Journeyman Electrician Compensation/Benefits
- $25 to $35/hr BOE
- Full-time, 40 hours a week
