Full Time - ADA Testing Specialist
The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - ADA Testing Specialist at our Bryan Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
Facilitate and provide special testing services for students with disabilities. Schedule all exams and communicate with instructors and students to support those with disabilities.
Principal Accountabilities

Obtain students class syllabus for scheduling testing appointments for students with documented disabilities
- Ensure the security of testing materials/instructions received from instructors when providing the students testing accommodations.

Verifies student’s identity and enrollment, directs to appropriate testing areas, provides test instructions, distributes test materials, monitors student as they test, and collects test materials at the end of the testing period, download audio books

Report on utilization of special testing services/facilities and prepare report for students receiving disability services using Argos

Assist with accommodation letters and advisement of student with disabilities

Enter student information into Banner, scan and index
- Provide front office coverage and secretarial duties during absence of secretary.

Work cooperatively with other student services, division, and departments. Provides supportive assistance to other student services departments as directed by ODS Director.

Comply with FERPA, ADA and other state requirements in the handling of student records.

Perform other duties related tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
-
High School/GED
-
Two years’ experience in a higher education, medical, and/or counseling office setting
Minimum Competencies

Good organizational skills, flexibility to handle unexpected situations, attention to detail

Excellent listening and communication skills. Effectively using these skills with tack and diplomacy

Proficiency computer skills; processing reports and spreadsheets

Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to Blinn College's mission and purpose, teaching and learning, high academic standards, and student success.

Ability to work within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or higher educational degree

Three years’ experience in a higher education, medical, and/or counseling office setting

Experience in working with students that have disabilities (neurological, psychological, or developmental)
Preferred Competencies

Ability to interface with and communicate effectively with deans, directors, chairs, faculty, students, potential students, and parents.

Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to serve students in an adequate time frame.
Ability to plan ahead, managing time well, being on time and thinking of better ways for continuous improvement.
Special Notes To Applicants
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include after hours, weekends, and some travel during peak times of the year.
This is a 40 hours per week, on-campus position. You must be able to perform the essential duties in person.
This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Yearly leave time includes:
96 hours vacation
40 hours discretionary
16 hours personal
8 hours sick each month.
Paid leave for college designated holiday’s, spring break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas break (approx. 25 days per year)
