Forklift Operator – Stone Warehouse (English & Spanish Speaker)Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and stack stone materials within the warehouse and yard. The operator must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to coordinate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move stone slabs, blocks, and pallets safely within the warehouse and yard.
- Load and unload stone materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to designated storage or staging areas.
- Stack and organize stone materials properly to prevent damage or safety hazards.
- Communicate with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers in English and Spanish.
- Inspect forklifts daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
- Assist with inventory checks and verify materials during receiving and shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Handle stone slabs carefully to prevent breakage.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Ability to speak and understand both English and Spanish.
- Ability to safely handle heavy materials such as stone slabs and pallets.
- Forklift certification or license preferred.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in granite, marble, or stone warehouses.
- Experience loading and unloading heavy materials from trucks or containers.
- Familiarity with warehouse inventory procedures.
Working Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor warehouse environment.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
- Standing and operating equipment for long periods.
Safety Requirements
- Must follow all workplace safety regulations.
- Wear required PPE (helmet, safety shoes, gloves, and high-visibility vest).
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
