Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Automated Test Engineer - Electrical to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions for complex electrical systems and electronic components. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of our products through rigorous testing protocols and troubleshooting. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automated test procedures for electrical systems, circuit boards, and embedded firmware using programming languages such as Python, C++, and scripting tools.
- Design and validate FPGA-based testing frameworks utilizing SystemVerilog, Simulink, and other simulation tools to verify hardware functionality.
- Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures or system malfunctions by analyzing test data, debugging circuits, and utilizing diagnostic equipment like oscilloscopes and ohmmeters.
- Collaborate with design engineers to review schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical system designs ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct system development verification for SoC (System on Chip) components and control systems within industrial automation environments.
- Support manufacturing by creating test fixtures, soldering components using surface mount technology (SMT), and ensuring PCB designs meet manufacturing specifications.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks to assist in electrical schematic design and mechanical integration of electrical systems.
- Engage in project scheduling to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Perform signal processing analysis and vision inspection system testing to ensure product quality in automated manufacturing lines.
- Troubleshoot engineering issues related to electrical building codes, mechanical interfaces, or control systems to optimize performance and safety.
Experience
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on electronics design or electrical system testing.
- Strong background in PCB design, circuit design, schematic creation, and electrical system integration.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA development using SystemVerilog or VHDL; familiarity with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink is preferred.
- Skilled in programming languages such as Python, C++, Perl, and scripting for automation purposes.
- Knowledge of control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM microcontrollers, Arduino platforms, and firmware development.
- Familiarity with industrial automation standards including NEC codes and NFPA 70 compliance requirements.
- Mechanical knowledge related to surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and mechanical assembly processes is advantageous.
- Experience working with vision inspection systems or other automated testing equipment used in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to perform debugging using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes or ohmmeters; excellent problem-solving skills for engineering troubleshooting tasks.
- Strong understanding of signal processing techniques relevant to communications systems expertise within electrical engineering projects.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
