Oncology Infusion Nurse
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Oncology Infusion Nurse (RN) to join our growing oncology team. The Oncology Infusion Nurse is responsible for administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, hydration, and other infusion treatments while providing exceptional patient care and education. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to oncology patients.
# Key Responsibilities
* Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, hydration therapy, blood products, and supportive medications in accordance with physician orders and established protocols* Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments* Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to infusion-related emergencies* Access and maintain central venous access devices, including ports, PICC lines, and central lines* Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, and symptom management* Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care* Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record* Maintain compliance with oncology nursing standards, safety guidelines, and infection control protocols* Assist with patient triage and symptom management as needed* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing staff education
# Qualifications
* Active RN license in good standing* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required* Minimum 1 year of infusion nursing experience preferred* Oncology nursing experience strongly preferred* Current BLS certification required* ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification preferred or willingness to obtain* Strong IV therapy and vascular access skills* Excellent communication and patient education abilities* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient oncology environment

* OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification* Experience with chemotherapy administration* Experience working in an outpatient oncology or infusion center setting* Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
