Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to join Amisto's opening leadership team.
The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to lead daily operations, develop the team, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership position with a strong presence on the floor and an important role in establishing Amisto's service standards, systems, and culture from the beginning.
We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of service, developing people, solving problems, and creating an environment where both guests and employees feel taken care of.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
- Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations
- Maintain a strong floor presence and actively lead the team throughout service
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, reservations, events, and service expectations
- Partner with FOH and BOH leadership to ensure strong communication and execution
- Monitor service flow, staffing, and restaurant operations and make adjustments as needed
- Support opening and closing procedures and ensure operational standards are consistently maintained
- Step into leadership of restaurant operations in the General Manager's absence
Team Leadership & Development
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and developing the FOH team
- Coach employees in real time and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Foster a positive, accountable, and growth-oriented workplace culture
- Lead by example through professionalism, urgency, organization, and hospitality
- Help identify opportunities for employee development and advancement
- Support ongoing training and continued improvement of service standards
Guest Experience
- Ensure every service reflects Amisto's hospitality standards
- Build relationships with guests and help create memorable dining experiences
- Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns thoughtfully and professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment
Financial & Operational Performance
- Support labor management, scheduling, and staffing based on business needs
- Assist with inventory, purchasing, receiving, and cost controls
- Review sales, labor, guest feedback, and operational performance with the General Manager
- Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, and strengthen restaurant performance
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of restaurant management or leadership experience
- Assistant General Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership experience preferred
- Experience in high-volume, hospitality-driven restaurants
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable
- Working knowledge of labor management, restaurant financials, and operational systems
- Ability to remain organized and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for food, beverage, hospitality, and team development

Position Details
- Full-time, salaried management position
