Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Previous experience in an educational setting serving students with diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills when planning lessons and accommodations
- Ability to create a positive and supportive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ unique abilities and learning goals
- Collaborate actively with general education teachers, aides, and other specialists to integrate best practices
- Develop, update, and review IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and promptly
- Track and report student progress, regularly communicating achievements and areas for improvement to parents and staff
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies to maximize student engagement and success
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and ongoing training
