Scotts Bluff County is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician Officer; this position is a combination of skilled building maintenance with direct-contact correctional duties inside the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center.
Essential duties and responsibilities: This is hands‑on technical maintenance. Must be adaptable, skilled in multiple trades, and capable of maintaining professionalism and sound judgment in a secure correctional environment; be able to receive, prioritize, and complete work orders; plan and schedule repairs; maintain accurate maintenance records; perform HVAC, plumbing, electrical, sprinkler system, carpentry, and general building/grounds repairs.
Correctional Duties - Provide security and care to incarcerated individuals, ensuring inmate safety, enforcing rules and regulations, maintaining order, escorting inmates, and supervising various inmate activities and programs.
Must be able to pass written & oral exam, drug screening, and a thorough background investigation. This position is available for Veteran’s Preference. Scotts Bluff County is an EEO/AA employer.
