Job Duties:
- Process and fill prescriptions accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Counsel and educate patients on a wide range of prescriptions medications, over the counter products, medical devices/equipment, and disease states. Be able to communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff.
- Work closely with clinical personnel to provide drug information and medication therapy support. Answer all questions as completely as possible in a timely fashion, giving the provider as much information as he/she needs to make the best decision for the patient.
- Provide a positive learning environment for students.
- Manage inventory for pharmacy.
- Maintain appropriate records for all patients as appropriate and in accordance with all governmental and regulatory standards.
Position Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with at least a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy preferred. Experience may not substitute for minimum education requirement.
- Currently licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Alabama or eligible to be licensed.
Experience
- Demonstrated expertise related to trends and issues, laws and regulations associated with the delivery of pharmacy services.
- Demonstrated success in establishing professional relationships.
- Experience practicing community or hospital pharmacy.
- Experience performing Medication Therapy Management (MTM) preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity and experience with standards and processes established by JCAHO, CMS, ALBOP, and regulatory entities.
Physical/Environmental
· Be able to stand for extended periods of time.
· Be able to lift 0-25lbs
- Be able to bend, kneel, twist, and/or climb stairs as job requires
· Normal accessibility and mobility throughout the region required.
· Normal overtime/extended work hours.
