PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To assist the teacher in general daily classroom activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

High School Diploma/GED
-
Texas Educational Aide Certificate
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
-
Exhibit effective working relationships with students, staff and school community.

Ability to communicate effectively
EXPERIENCE:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
-
Assist in small group pupil instruction and tutor students at teacher's request.
-
Plan and implement pre-kindergarten physical education instruction based on district provided curriculum.

Help maintain discipline and other non-instructional functions.
- Record attendance information and related clerical functions with the teacher.
-
Collaborate with the teacher to set up classroom and prepare materials for specialized instructional units.

Assemble materials for bulletin boards and keep displays current.
-
Operate standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, etc.
-
Escort children to and from various rooms.
-
Supervise students when teacher is temporarily absent
-
Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
