Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Import and Export Coordinator to join our global logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of international shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and optimizing supply chain efficiency. Your proactive approach will help facilitate seamless import and export operations, mitigate risks, and uphold the highest standards of regulatory adherence. Key Responsibilities
- Shipment Tracking & Tracing: Monitor Import and Export flights and cargo in real-time, proactively updating clients and overseas agents on transit status or potential delays.
- Documentation & Compliance: Review, prepare, and process essential shipping documents, including Air Waybills (AWBs), commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Customs Coordination: Submit documentation to customs brokers to obtain clearance and ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other government agencies.
- Delivery Arrangements: Coordinate with local trucking partners, cargo terminals, and warehouses to schedule prompt freight pick-up and final destination delivery.
- Billing & Invoicing: Create and process freight invoices, audit carrier charges, and generate transaction reports to support the accounting department.
- Experience: Usually 1–3+ years of hands-on experience in global freight forwarding or logistics.
- Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of international shipping terminology, Incoterms, and air carrier schedules.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, CargoSprint or similar).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, and the ability to multitask in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
