Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort
- Monitor patients’ health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and enhance quality of life
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment in accordance with health standards
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly valued
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
- Hands-on experience with medication administration and care plan implementation
- Certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or group home experience are advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities enhances your ability to provide personalized support
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary and adhere to safety protocols at all times
